John M. Bruderman, Jr., CFA
Chairman Emeritus

Jack Bruderman has more than a half-century of experience in the investment business as a equity research analyst and portfolio manager. A member of the CFA Institute since 1968, he earned an AB in economics at Georgetown University, an MBA in finance and investments at New York University, and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.

During his long career, Mr. Bruderman has been associated with Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and Keane Asset Management. For more than twenty years, he served as chief investment strategist and president of John M. Bruderman & Co/Capromont Ltd., where he managed portfolios for European investors including many religious congregations and dioceses, and several royal families.

Matthew J. Bruderman
Chairman

Matthew Bruderman leads all merchant and investment banking activities for Bruderman Brothers, and takes great pride in being personally involved in each transaction undertaken by the firm. Matthew Bruderman has been active in financial services for nearly 20 years, and represents the third generation of the Bruderman family in the industry. Early in his career he held positions in sales, investment and merchant banking, financial planning, and investment management at T.R. Winston & Company, Shearson Lehman, and Merrill Lynch.

As a merchant banking and private equity investor, Mr. Bruderman has acquired and sold businesses ranging from $10-100 million in enterprise value. He has often been the majority shareholder of these portfolio companies, and he has served as Chairman and CEO of many of them, overseeing as many as 750 employees at one time. As part of his experience as a merchant banker, Matthew Bruderman has worked with major lending institutions, managed payroll and debt obligations, and owned factories, manufacturing facilities, and retail stores. Additionally, Matthew has founded businesses in sectors as diverse as finance, retail, consumer products, apparel, and healthcare.

As an investment banker, Mr. Bruderman has advised on transactions of up to $1 billion across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has managed transactions in finance, consumer products, healthcare, technology, communications, apparel, aerospace, chemicals, energy, trucking, logistics and distribution, manufacturing, automotive, agriculture, and real estate.

Matthew Bruderman is an active and private philanthropist who acts as a trustee for several not-for-profit institutions. He has represented, worked for, owned, and operated many family businesses and sits on various public and private boards. He still works with his father today, and leads his family’s business and family office.

Matthew holds his SS-7, 63, 24 and 99 securities licenses and is currently chairman of Bruderman Brothers, LLC, a broker-dealer, and Bruderman Asset Management, LLC, an investment advisor, which are both registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Matthew Bruderman is a frequent co-writer for Oliver Pursche’s columns in Forbes, MarketWatch, and TheStreet.com, among other outlets. Additionally, he serves as a co-contributor for Oliver Pursche to CNBC and Fox Business, as well as publications such as Reuters and The Wall Street Journal.

Douglas M. Blagdon
Vice Chairman & Special Advisor to the Investment Committee

Douglas Blagdon is the Vice Chairman of Bruderman Brothers, LLC, and Bruderman Asset Management, LLC. He also serves as Special Advisor to Bruderman’s Investment Committee, where he consults on all of the firm’s investment and merchant banking transactions, as well as providing new sources of capital to the firm and growing the company.

Mr. Blagdon brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm, and throughout his career has worked extensively in mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, initial public offerings, and leveraged buyouts, among other specialties. He joins Bruderman from the merchant banking firm ShoreBridge Capital Partners, which he founded. Prior to ShoreBridge, Mr. Blagdon served as a Managing Director at S.A.C. Capital Advisors, where he was responsible for all of the firm’s capital raising activity, as well as investor relations.

Mr. Blagdon earned a BA from Yale University in Economics and Psychology, graduating cum laude. He holds his FINRA Series 3, 7, 24, 30, 63 and 79 licenses.

Oliver Pursche
Chief Executive Officer

Oliver Pursche oversees the operations of both Bruderman Brothers, LLC and Bruderman Asset Management, LLC and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Before becoming Chief Executive Officer of Bruderman Brothers, Mr. Pursche worked for such venerable firms as Neuberger Berman, PaineWebber, and GGFS. He is a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council and a monthly participant in the prestigious New York Federal Reserve’s business survey.

Mr. Pursche is a recognized authority on global affairs and investment policy, and writes regular columns for Forbes, MarketWatch, and TheStreet.com, among other outlets. He is also a frequent contributor to CNBC and Fox Business and is quoted regularly in such publications as Reuters and The Wall Street Journal. In addition, he is proud to work with entrepreneurs through his role on the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs and his participation in the EY World Entrepreneur Forum. He is the author of “Immigrants: Unleashing the Economic Force at our Door” and holds a degree from Bentley University.

Gerard L. Eastman
President of Investment Banking

Gerard Eastman is President of investment banking for Bruderman Brothers, LLC. He has over 25 years of experience advising industrial, engineering, and technology companies on mergers & acquisitions, restructurings, and financing transactions. Mr. Eastman has advised a wide variety of multi-national companies including IBM, Lucent, Ford, Honeywell, Raytheon, EMC, United Technologies, Textron, and ADP.

Mr. Eastman earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has served as a non-executive director of Nautilus from 2007 to 2009 and as a non-executive director of Spirent Communications from 2006 to 2010.

Michael L. Murphy, CFA
Head of Risk Management

Mr. Murphy is Head of Risk Management at Bruderman Asset Management, LLC, responsible for sourcing and overseeing the firms alternative investment portfolios. He also works with the firm’s portfolio management team, performing quantitative analysis for alternative and portfolio investments.

Mr. Murphy brings more than 25 years of investment experience to the firm, including over 17 years in the hedge fund industry, where he focuses on fund due diligence, portfolio construction and quantitative analysis. He previously served as the principal of a consulting firm that provides valuation and investment banking services to investors and sponsors in the real estate, consumer and technology sectors. Prior to that, he served as a managing director and director of research at Sage Capital Management. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, one of the most distinguished and highly regarded accreditations in the financial services industry.

Bill Krivicich, CFA
Director of Research

Mr. Krivicich is Director of Research for Bruderman Asset Management, LLC, as well as Co-Chief Investment Officer for Bruderman’s GMG Defensive Beta Fund. He leads the firm’s portfolio management and research teams in developing client portfolios, selecting securities and performing due diligence. He also sits on Bruderman’s Investment Committee and leads the investment sub-committee that directs and manages nearly $1 billion in retail client assets.

Mr. Krivicich brings nearly 20 years of experience to the firm, with particular expertise in managing institutional and mutual fund portfolios. As CIO, Mr. Krivicich develops the Defensive Beta Fund’s portfolio, based on the Investment Committee’s overall macro-economic views. The fund incorporates alternative investment strategies with traditional asset classes in order to deliver long-term returns with minimum volatility.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Krivicich served as Chief Investment Officer for one of the nation’s premier boutique money management firms. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Robert L. Morgan
Market Strategist

Rob Morgan is a Market Strategist for Bruderman Asset Management, LLC, where he consults on the firm’s investment portfolios. Mr. Morgan is a respected authority on macroeconomic issues, appearing regularly on CNBC, Fox Business News, and Bloomberg TV and radio to discuss economic and market topics. He also is one of the 50 market-watchers who participate in the CNBC Fed Survey before every Fed meeting.

In addition to his current role, Mr. Morgan serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Sethi Financial Group. He has also been Chief Investment Strategist for Fulcrum Securities, President of Dearden, Maguire, Weaver, and Barrett LLC, Investment Strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott, and Chief Investment Officer for Fulton Financial Advisors.

Mr. Morgan earned a BS from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated cum laude. He also earned an MBA from Vanderbilt and was proud to serve as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
